Would you like to experience an enjoyable summer climate? Would you like your kids to be able to play on the clean sandy beaches of Lake Michigan? Would you like to regularly have a white Christmas? The Church of Christ in Menominee, Ml is looking for a mission-minded preacher. Located in the pristine Upper Peninsula of Michigan, Menominee lies on the shore of beautiful Lake Michigan, just one hour north of Green Bay, Wisconsin. Menominee shares a border with Marinette, WI, and the two cities combine to form a community of 19,000 people. Churches of Christ are few and far between up here— the nearest congregations (also small) are an hour to the north or south. We need helpl We are a congregation of 18 committed Christians who can supply partial salary support for a preacher, but we are hoping to find someone who can bring some support of his own or who would be willing to find work in the community. We are also seeking additional support options from larger churches. We will help in every way we can to make it happen.
The church is debt-free with a main building for worship and fellowship, and another building with three large classrooms, as well as a storage shed. It is located on a property with a yard large enough to include a swing set, a campfire area, and a volleyball court.
The Marinette/Menominee area has two colleges—UW-Green Bay, Marinette Campus, and Northeast Wisconsin Technical College. There is also a large hospital system and several large industries in the area, including: Marinette Marine (presently building LCS combat ships for the Navy); Johnson Controls (Fire suppression systems); Enstrom (helicopter building); Lloyd Loom (manufacturer of wicker furniture); Kimberly Clark (paper mill); Anchor Coupling (hydraulic hose assemblies); Waupaca Foundry; KS Kolbenschmidt (produces automotive parts); L.E. Jones (manufacturer of premier car engine parts); and many others.
Housing in this area is a great value—the average home price is around $90,000—and the neighborhoods are tined with shady trees. There are eight beautiful parks in the cities, two marinas filled with sailboats and yachts in the summer, and five sandy beaches along the shore. There is also a strong public school system, a great parochial school system, and a welt-established homeschooling network.
