We are looking for a godly man to come to beautiful Northern California to work with our congregation in Chico, CA (typical Sunday morning attendance of 100 worshippers). Chico is a lovely community of about 100,000 residents, 90 miles north of Sacramento with abundant opportunities for outdoor recreation and cultural activities.
We have a wonderfully loving and healthy church body. We are grace oriented and committed to Christ-centered preaching and teaching. In some ways, we are a conservative mainline church. We remain committed to a cappella singing and male leadership, and we highly value our unity in Christ. We try to embrace our earliest restoration principles, wanting to be Christians only while not claiming to be the only ones. We do not stress the issues that have often divided us and endeavor to allow liberty in matters of opinion.
Our shepherds are Larry Bradley, Ted Hanson, and Lyle Thompson and we have four deacons and a long-term, paid Office Manager. We have an established small group program and a number of annual outreach events that have been well received by the local community. The presence of Chico State University gives us a great field of opportunity.
Like most churches, we are looking for someone who has experience in ministry but still has many years left to serve. We would prefer a married man, who has a supportive wife and someone willing to put down roots here and not be looking for greener pastures in a couple of years.
To apply, please submit a cover letter and resume to the Elders by email to firstname.lastname@example.org.
